The Comfort of Birds
There is not a lot that can be done to combat the loneliness and heaviness that Covid-19 has cast across the world. This is especially true in assisted living and memory care facilities where the residents are unable to visit with their family members in person. More often than not, such visits are the brightest point of the residents’ day or week, helping them to stay positive and giving them something to look forward to. However, as Covid continues to persist, precautions must be adhered to for the safety of the residents who are among the most susceptible to the virus.
At Bevy of Birdhomes, we have had the pleasure of hearing how our aviaries have helped to ease some of this extreme loneliness, giving the residents something precious to watch, listen to, and relate to. Our goal has always been to create a peaceful and cheerful environment by bringing a little bit of nature inside, and we are so grateful to see how the impact of our work has increased so much more during these difficult days. We aim to carry on with our mission for as long as possible and to continue to make people smile!
Here’s What Some of Our Facilities have Said!
~ “I have long considered our aviaries to be one of our signature amenities. Our aviaries have brought limitless joy to our residents and staff and have proven to be irreplaceable. From the warm and inviting songs to the sheer excitement of hatchlings I can honestly say they are without a doubt the favorite attraction at all of our Oakmont Communities.”

~ “Meadowood residents, guests, staff, family members, vendors, and everyone coming into the building take time out to enjoy the bird aviary and birds, finches, doves, and the like. The birds have taught us recently about bonding. The doves had a baby whom they protected by sitting in a small plastic ‘home’ both on top of the baby and keeping it warm and cuddled. It touched everyone’s hearts and we all came out of our offices to watch with awe, hoping to catch a glimpse of the new baby. We are all so grateful to Beverly of LLC, who takes such wonderful care of our birds that we can all take the time to enjoy them each day. Thank you Bevy!”
